Review of Girly Bits Roger That and Smurf Dance

Today I have some awesome polishes from Girly Bits for you! I have Roger That and Smurf Dance.  I will start with Roger That, which was created in memory of Brady Rogers, and $5 from the sale of this shade goes to Brady's Bursary.  Here is a little extra information on this (taken from the Girly Bits page): "Saturday, July 21st, our community was shocked, and deeply saddened by the sudden and unexplained death of a local teen, Brady Rogers. Brady and his closest friends and family were at his home celebrating his high school graduation when Brady collapsed and died.
His close knit circle of friends have been reeling ever since, searching for answers, and trying to comfort one another. Brady was larger than life in spirit, personality, and even in his 6'4 red haired, blue eyed frame. He was one of those kids who left an impression on everyone who's path he crossed. He loved his friends and family deeply and wasn't afraid to show it.
Brady's friends have spent the better part of the week, creating tributes to Brady in the form of orange ribbons and posters which they painted the town with, especially along the funeral route from the funeral home, to the community center where a service for Brady was held, with a full house of 700+ people.
My daughter came to me on Monday, asking if I could create a polish, in Brady's memory, and donate the proceeds to the Brady Rogers Memorial Bursary Fund at Kingsville District High School, which he graduated from just weeks before. I told her if she and her friends came up with a colour inspiration, and a name, I could have it done in time for them to wear to the funeral service on Wednesday. They all agreed- a sparkly blue, like Brady's eyes. The name? Roger That. (his twitter name)
 Consider it done.
Mackenzie and I paid a visit to Brady's parents- Mark and Susanne Rogers, and left them with 55 bottles of Roger That, to be sold for $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to Brady's Bursary.
All 55 were immediately purchased, with many requests for more. I have donated 100 bottles to the family, with 100% of the money from those sales going into the fund. I have also poured more and I will continue to offer the polish on my site, for the retail price of $12.50, with $5.00 from every bottle sold going to Brady's Bursary.
If you are local to the Kingville/Essex County area and would like to make arrangements for pick up, please contact me directly. They are also available at Shoppers Drug mart, My Cousins Closet, Maxwell Maze and GrinVilla. More locations to be announced soon.
Thank you so much for your amazing support"
Such an amazing thing to do! Now after that I will show you "Roger That"!

Can you see all that excellent holographic goodness? It's amazing. This polish is holoy even without the sun!

Thumb shot :)  I had no problems with this polish at all, it went on like a dream and dried great. I have Nubar Diamonte top coat over it and it did not take away from the holographicness at all. In these pictures I have on 3 coats.

Up close thumb shot, with tons of holoy goodness.
Next up I have Smurf Dance, which has a clear base with fine holographic glitter in it, it also has multiple sized blue and white glitters  in many different shapes and sizes. Not limited to but including: squares, hexes, and bars. If I remember correctly this polish was made during a conversation, in a nail group I am part of, about the Smurfs. I love this polish. I have 2 coats on to show that you definitely can wear this polish alone, and I have one coat of it on over Roger That to show how awesome that looks too. I didn't have to fish for glitters, I had absolutely no problems with this polish at all. I really love both of them!

Gotta LOVE this sparkly bottle shot!  Plus it shows off all the different shapes and sizes of sparkles in there :)

It's so pretty I really don't have to say anything about it!

Here is one coat over Roger That. Yes there is some wear in this picture, but that's because I wore this polish for about 4 days!

Here are all the fingers with the bottle! And you can see the pretty little jewel that adorns each and every bottle of Girly Bits polish :)

Here are all the fingers again, and as you can tell it just depends on the brush stroke what you end up with on that nail.

Still freaking amazing!

Here is where you can look to find yourself some Girly Bits: Facebook, the blog, or the shop.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and come back again soon for more great posts.  Have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile, you never know who might be looking :)

Review of Dandy Nails: Bathed in Light, Eager Eyes, and Come Out and Play

Today I have some awesome DandyNails lacquers for you. They will be Bathed in Light, Eager Eyes, and Come Out and Play.  I will start with Bathed in Light which has a duochrome looking base that is golden brown to maroon with micro holographic scattered glitters.  This lacquer went on like a dream and built up in two coats very nicely.  I really love this color. It's gorgeous and sparkly and loads of fun!

Look at all the sparkle here! This color could be worn with so many different outfits and match them all.

Here it is again for you a little bit bigger.  You can still see all the holographic sparkles along with the maroon looking base and in this picture the base kind of looks grey or silver.

Thumb shot :)

Here is an up close of the thumb and here you can see the semi brown color.

And of course the bottle shot to show all the sparkle off :)

Next we have Eager Eyes which is a beautiful ocean blue scattered holographic lacquer.  I have on 2 coats in these pictures. I did not have any issues with the application or wear of this polish.

Love this color and all the sparkles!

Look at all the great holographic glitter sparkling different colors here!

Thumb shot :)

Up close thumb shot, showing the great blue of this color.

And of course the beautiful bottle shot!

Last but definitely not least Come Out and Play. This has a dark fuchsia base with mini matte white hex glitters.  It dries with a semi matte or suede finish, but looks just as good with a clear coat over it to shine it up. I didn't have any application issues with this polish or any issues at all with this polish.

This is a very good color match to the actual polish in person (depending on your computer of course).

See it looks great with the matte finish. And the white glitter really makes it pop.

Thumb shot :)

A bit closer thumb shot just so you can see it.

And of course the bottle shot :)

I hope you enjoyed this post and come back again soon to see what else I have in store for you.  Have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile, you never know whose looking :)

Pretty & Polished: Pool Party, Jawbreaker, Sand Art, and Clouds in My Coffee

Today I have some more lovely polishes from Pretty & Polished: Pool Party, Jawbreaker, Sand Art, and Clouds in My Coffee. Now some of these might be older versions or no longer carried, but I love them and wanted to share them with you all! I will start off with Pool Party, which has a light baby blue jelly base with tons of different colored, shaped and sized glitters. Here are some of the colors: light pink, black, silver, blue, gold, red, purple, green, etc. Shapes: hexes, squares, and bars. This polish is just packed full of fun!

As you may know this is one of the polishes that has been changed, the new version is Party at Joe's.

I still like this one and out of all the glitters on my nails there was only one slightly curved bar glitter which I gladly topcoated over :)  Seriously look at all that glitter!

I love all the different colors and sizes of glitter in here, and it looks so awesome in this milky jelly base!

LOOOK AT IT ALLLLLL!!!!

Next up is Jawbreaker, this has a milky white base with multiple sizes and colors of hex glitters, mint green mini bars, and red squares.  I am a major fan of the milky white based polishes and I love this one! I did not have any problems with getting the glitter on the nail, no fishing, no dragging, no problems what so ever!

Bottle Shot!

Look at that cute mini mint green bar! I love it! And all the rest of the fun glitters that are there too!

As you can see there are glitters everywhere :)

A little further away to show how cool it looks! Glitter all over just the way it should be with a polish like this.

This look was achieved with only 2 coats. So much glitter fun!

Now I have the very famous Sand Art, which has a clear base and is packed plum full of blue, purple, light pink, green, and yellow micro glitters. I had no problems with this polish either, no fishing, no dragging, nothing! This is a really fun polish that you can put on alone and build up or you can put it on over another color and it looks just as amazing. I chose to put it on alone with only one coat just to show you how much glitter you get that way.

Again this is only one coat! Seriously it's packed full of these great micro glitters.

Here it is on the rest of the nails and you can see that each nail got tons of glitters too!

Look at those awesome colors. I really love these colors together.  So fun and contrasting.

Bottle shot so you can see just how packed full of glitter it is!

And an up close of the thumb.  Look there are some blue and purple glitters that are mini sized, just a bit bigger than the micros and make the polish pop all the more :)  Now that I have it, I know what all the fuss was about, it's freaking awesome!

Last but not least by any means I have Clouds in My Coffee which has a light brown/taupe base with gold shimmer packed in, and it has teal and blue mini hexes, along with medium sized light blue hexes. This is a super pretty polish and I really love it's contrasting colors. I had no problems with this polish either. There was no fishing, dragging, dripping, or any other icky stuff. I really love this polish so here it is:

You can see all the creamed coffee colored goodness here, and all the super great blue and teal sparkles.

Isn't this just adorable? I think so. I love it so much. It's my current Pretty & Polished favorite!

I have 2 coats of Clouds in My Coffee on in these pictures.

Here is a close up on the thumb where you can see the wonderful colors and sparkles.

And of course the bottle shot!

Above the Curve's Fallen Angel!!

Next up I am bringing you Fallen Angel from the very wonderful Above The Curve Nail Polish.  Now if you aren't familiar with Above The Curve Nail Polish here is a little information about them, it's a husband and wife team, and they are awesome by the way.  Anyway, they are trying to spread awareness about Scoliosis and Shriner's Hospital for Children, so $1 from the sale of each full size bottle is donated to Shriner's Hospital for Children. The wife half of this amazing duo suffered from a severe case of scoliosis when she was 12 years old, because her spine was at a 72 degree curve and was twisting her ribs into her lungs and heart. She had to have a rushed surgery to fuse her spine, and Shriner's Hospitals for Children did her surgery for free and saved her life. Now she has 3 wonderful children of her own and a great husband, and none of that would have been possible without the help of Shriner's Hospitals for Children. So now you know why they are trying to spread the word and why they donate to them.  And also why their name is "Above the Curve" :)
Okay now back to the wonderful polish Fallen Angel! This is a gorgeous blackish grey base holographic that looks purple and royal blue in some lights, and then gold, orange, and green in others. It's an amazing color, but then everything I've seen from Above the Curve has been pretty freaking amazing! So without further ado here it is:

Up close bottle shot, my camera washed out the color a little. But you can still see all that holographic goodness going on in there!

Here is an up close of the thumb. Again due to the closeness and the holographic sparkle my camera washed it out a little bit.

Perfect! Look at the linear holographic effect right in the middle of the nail! Oh I love this polish!

Here is some more holographic goodness! Look it's just so pretty!!

In a little bit of a different light and at a different angle. It's beautiful!!

Here they are at another angle. I just couldn't get enough!

Here it is yet again! :) I love it!!! I can't get enough of it!

And look in the shadows it's still so awesome!

Alright if you would like to find (stalk) Above the Curve Nail Polish like I do (LOL) here's some places to look: Facebook, etsy, or bigcartel!
